Tulsa based company accused of e-recycling scam

May 29th, 2009

A national environmental watchdog group accuses a Tulsa based e-recycler of pulling a switch on a fundraising group in the Pittspurgh area.
Basel Action Network, or BAN claims electronics to be recycled for fundraising were instead loaded onto ships bound for South Africa and Hong.
BAN released a report revealing several problems they found with EarthECycle.
A copy of the report can be found at this link: http://www.ban.org/Library/PittsburghScam.pdf

OETA’s Angela Rosecrans had the opportunity to interview EarthECycle’s owner, Jeff Nixon about the alledged actions. The picture you see below is the M.e.t’s Michael Patton, NOT Jeff Nixon.

Hi Angela -
as a local volunteer group here in Tulsa having an e-cycle event in May with EarthEcycle, I am beginning to slowly realize we too may very likely have been scammed by Jeff Nixon.
Thank you for your time,
Ronda Robertson

BAN cried wolf and everyone believed it so hard they actually saw wolves. BAN wanted headlines to damage business supposedly for the personal gain of their estewards. EarthEcycle just treaded to heavily on someone’s toes. It's that simple. Now we have a self imposed left wing Nazi like watch dog group trying to impose federal regulations that will solely benefit the recyclers that pay BAN for support. Sounds like a monopoly to me.
